So let's hear some thoughts on Stocks being let go. I was certainly of the mind she had at least next year.

Don't want you here alone Woody--so my 2 cents worth.
My previous bias for Stocks's coaching abilities has been reflected enough, but how she got the job has always been a mystery to me. Coming from the Sparks staff, after only 2 years, must have carried more importance than worth. Early on she reflected confusion once the game started. She had no control on losing EDD but the loss of Breland & Young had equal impact.Effective use of individual talents & attitudes was lacking with Dolson. Parker, DeShields and Copper and others. I would venture a bet that Stocks is breathing much better without the pressures of the job. I will hope she gets an assistant's spot with a top WNBA coach/team, spends 3/4 more years learning, and then get another chance as a head coach. There are no caps on coaches salaries so I would like to see the Sky take the time to find the best available, even if he/she has to come from another team. I would also suggest the job description be in charge of the "coaching" responsibilities and not include the GM duties. Success in this league takes leadership from the top down along with the finances to make it happen.

Ownership was pretty quick on the trigger with the dismissal of Amber Stocks. I don't usually take rumors serious. but there were whispers of certain players not wanting to play for her. there were talks of players wanting out. and ownership not wanting another Fowels and Delle Donne situation. felt it would be better to end their ties with Coach Stocks.

I don't get to hear the mumbling about the team, but as abrupt as Stocks dismissal was, I wouldn't doubt it.

As power packed as this team is, and with their potential...something tells me Doug Bruno is gonna be the choice.

Coach Bruno would be the best choice in the country. Just a couple of stumbling blocks--coached at DePaul now for 32 years. Contract was just renewed this year thru 2023/2024. Doesn't hurt to hope though.

Bruno will have to receive a super sweet deal from the Sky in order for him to quit the DePaul gig.

Might Bruno have a contract clause that gives him an out to coach The Sky???

The guy hardly misses a game.
