Anyone have a thought on this?  She always struck me as kinda....I don't know, odd.  To up and quit in the prime of her career is to me vintage Holdsclaw.

I've enjoyed watching Holdsclaw play since her freshman year at Tennessee. She has always been an amazing player with extreme talent and skills.  I'm sad to see her leave the game, but she needs to do what she feels is right for her.

There was talk of her retirement in the off season, but then she resigned with the Sparks, I do wish she would have honored her contract and played the entire season.  IMO, in college she helped raise the game up another notch or two. Unfortunately her WNBA career never really seemed to hit the level of greatness everyone was expecting.

I wish her well and thanks for all the years of exciting plays and great basketball.

She's always seemed to have issues in the pros.  She had intermittent boughts with depression with the Mystics before being traded to LA.  I think either the depression returned or she didn't like being a point guard.

Has she given a reason yet?  It's uncommon for a professional basketball player to just retire during the middle of a season.

I'm glad LA didn't wait too long to do something.  They picked up Kiesha Brown (who got cut by Minnesota toward the end of May when they grabbed Tiffany Stansbury...who got cut by LA).  They also picked up Iciss Tillis.  We'll see what happens.

She's still a free agent.  Unhappy  IMO, the Sparks need her a LOT more than they need Iciss Tillis.
